Dura-Loc

Dura-Loc
Dust Control and Road Stabilization

Dura-Loc combines lignin sulfonate, an organic material, and eco-friendly polymers for effective dust control, soil, and road stabilization solutions. It works with many types of soil, binding the fine particles found in aggregate and natural soils reducing breakouts.

For Best Results

Preparating the road or lot correctly before any application is key to its success. The better the surface preparation and prewatering, the more successful the application will be. The following five factors work together to achieve optimum results:

  • Quality and composition of aggregate
  • Moisture
  • Compaction
  • Road/site preparation
  • Application rate

Other Benefits

Dust Suppression

  • Keeps fines on road
  • Better public relations
  • Cleaner air
  • Reduces dust to PM10 standard

Improved Road Quality

  • Fewer potholes
  • Less washboarding
  • Ensure public safety

Road Stabilization

  • Less loss of road base
  • Reduces road maintenance
  • More value for the dollar

Pre Watering Before Application of Road Stabilization Products

Getting the right amount of water in a road or parking lot before we apply our road stabilization products is critical to the project's success. In business since 1990, Desert Mountain's team has the expertise to work with roads departments to get the area to optimum moisture.

Maximizing the Performance

Regular applications of Dura-Loc as part of a scheduled dust control regimen can lead to lower application rates over time. Consistent use contributes to minimizing road base loss and promotes the development of a stabilized surface.

Accumulating it in the road surface and base or other dirt areas is cost-effective in the long run. Our clients build up the product in the soil and eventually achieve the same benefits with less product.

Dura-Loc serves as a preventive measure against the formation of washboards and potholes. With prolonged use, solar reactivity hardens it, significantly diminishing solubility and product migration.

Health, Toxicity & Environmental

Dura-Loc is environmentally friendly. It is non-toxic—not harmful to humans, animals or plants. When cured, it does not leach like chloride products. Even after rainfalls, there is less runoff, lowering the impact on the surrounding environment and vegetation.

Preparing For An Application

Dura-Loc is easy to apply precisely via our computerized application trucks.

  • We ask that the area is bladed to eliminate wash-boarding and potholes.
  • The road, parking lot, or other areas to be treated should be watered to the desired depth to achieve optimum moisture.
  • Our experienced application truck drivers will then apply Dura-Loc to ensure long-lasting, smooth roads and other earthen areas.
